I’ve not been getting much time for drawing lately, which is always frustrating. Anyway, just to keep my hand in, I’ve started a drawing of me riding through Richmond Park on my bicycle. Its not finished though.

I thought I’d have a go at designing a t-shirt for Threadless.
Well, actually, its an old drawing, but adjusted for t-shirt suitability. Anyway, if you fancy wearing a t-shirt with a dog, bras and knickers on it, please vote me high! I need all the votes I can get. Thanks! π
And here’s the original sketch!
I’ve designed the official Christmas card for BSL Corpus Project! Hope they like it.
I’ve designed a poster for my daughter’s Christmas present! Its a bus. With animals in it!
It took me a while to come up with this. Apart from having to fit it in-between my day job, and my dad duties, at first I wasn’t sure what to draw. I had a vague notion of that I should design a poster with animals on it, especially elephants. And poo. I think children love that sort of stuff. Don’t they?
The elephant alone, however, wasn’t quite cutting it for me. It needed something else. It needed mobility. It needed a bus.
After that, the everything sort of fell into place, as they do when elephants and buses are involved. All I needed to do now was to add the elephant’s fellow passengers on the bus, and the rest, of course, was history.
All I need to do now is find someone who will print it out nice and big onto an A2 canvas. Next on my list of things to draw are Santa Claus, and Hackney County Hall. Watch this space…
Actually I’ve just realised, I think I forgot to add the poo to the final design… argh!
My friends William Mager and Charlie Swinbourne have made a film about a deaf porn star!…check it out, its brilliant.
… ( I did the animation for it )
I thought it would be nice to kick off my new blag with some of the more successful recent attempts at life-drawing, that I’ve managed to do over the past few weeks.
I draw all my life-drawings at the Doodlebar, which has an excellent regular life-drawing session every Tuesday night. I can’t go for the next few weeks though as my weekly evening-out quota is currently being used up by an evening course in Nuke. Which is good, as I’m learning Nuke π . But bad because I’m missing life-drawing π , and my baby daughter π π . Not that she’s supposed to be awake that late in the evening anyway though, mind you.
I foolishly ignored the old maxim of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, and accidentally broke my old website while not fixing it. And then, to compound matters, my Macbook Pro broke down too! And that bit wasn’t even my fault! I blame Nvidia.
Anyway, now with a new main logic board and graphics card safely installed in my laptop, I have come to theΓ decision that I’m far too old and cranky to spend my free time troubleshooting websites these days, even if it is my own website. The simple thing to do is to start again, afresh. Hurray! The revolution starts here; It’s Year Zero on http://www.jamesmerry.co.uk
I don’t think anyone really noticed that my old website went missing though, if I’m going to be really, really honest with myself…
